9/19/21 – On Saturday September 23rd , the Warren County Historical Society will be holding its annual drive thru/pick up Chicken BBQ fundraiser from 3 to 6pm.   Cost is $16.00 and dinner includes:  1/2 chicken with salt potatoes, an ear of corn, coleslaw, and roll with butter.  Tickets must be purchased in advance by Tuesday September 19th. Cash, Check, or Credit Card accepted. 9/21/23 – In celebration of National Literacy Month, the Tri-County Literacy Center is holding their art show fundraiser, “Celebrating the Art of Community” in the Friends Gallery located on the second floor of Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls through September 27th.  All works were created by local artists. The pieces encompass a wide range of styles, subjects, and media. All pieces are available for sale and will be priced at $200.00 or less.  Proceeds from the art sale will support the work of Tri-County Literacy Center.  There will be a Meet the Artist Reception on Thursday, September 21st from 5 to 8pm in the Friends Gallery. Light refreshments will be served, and artists will be on hand to speak about their work. TLC staff members and volunteer tutors will be available to answer questions regarding the organization and assist with art sales. 9/23/23 –  From September 22nd through the 24th the Adirondack Glass Blowing Studio will hold a fundraiser to benefit  the North Creek Depot Museum from 10am to 5pm each day. Walk through straw bales covered with 100’s of glass pumpkins. 9/25/23 – On Monday September 25th, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County invites the public as they will be holding an Open House and Building Dedication in honor of the late Andrew “Andy” Sprague former Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension. 9/28/23 –  On Thursday September 28th, the Warren County Historical Society will present Sara Frankenfeld, the county’s GIS Administrator, and Dan Forbush, founder and editor of Cliff & Redfield Interactive, as they introduce “Explore Warren County,” an app that will offer visitors to Warren County three audio tours starting in January. Their presentation, “Spatial Storytelling in Western Warren County,” takes place at 7pm in the Christine L. McDonald Community Room at Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls.

9/29/23 – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren and Washington Counties will be offering “PS:  It Works! Parenting Program” on five consecutive Tuesdays beginning October 3rd from 12 noon to 1:30pm via Zoom. This free program is designed for parents/caregivers with children from toddlers to teens who want to learn how to help guide the children in their care in a supportive way.  Basic parenting skills will be explored in this fun, interactive class. 10/13/23 – On Saturday, October 14th, the Alzheimer’s Association, Northeastern New York Chapter is holding its 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at SUNY Adirondack on Bay Road in Queensbury. 10/27/23 – Through October 29th, the Lake George Battlefield Park Visitors Center at 75 Fort George Road on the lower level of the Lake George Park Commission’s headquarters will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.  The Visitors Center also conducts 1-hour guided tours of the parks’ history on Saturdays at 11am. 10/27/23 – Through October 29th, the Ulysses S. Grant Cottage State Historic Site in Wilton is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30am to 4pm.  Cottage Tours are available every half hour starting at 10am.  Hidden History Hiking Tours take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10:30am with an $15.00 admission fee. TFN –  THE CLOTHING DONATION SHED OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 56 IN HUDSON FALLS IS OPEN AND LOCATED AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AT 9 RIVER STREET.  THE TROOP ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR PRE-OWNED CLOTHING.  ACCEPTED ITEMS ARE CLOTHING, SHOES, BELTS, PURSES, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CURTAINS, PILLOWCASES, AND STUFFED ANIMALS.  THE TROOP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR THE DONATIONS AND HAS THE OPTION TO USE DONATIONS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL.
