3/31/25 – On Tuesday April 1st, the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls presents, “Painting with Patrice” from 6 to 8pm. Patrice Jarvis Weber will help you create the feeling of a misty Spring morning in the background of this piece. Painting vivid blue on the (pre-traced) canoe participants will also learn the simple technique to paint the canoe’s bold reflection in the calm water. This workshop is open to all artistic abilities and ages, and all supplies are included in the cost. The program is $35.00 per participant or $30 for Chapman Members. 3/31/25 – Remote Area Medical – RAM – a leading nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality dental, vision and medical care to those in need – is looking for volunteer medical, dental and vision professionals and general support staff for its April 12th and 13th clinic. The two-day clinic will be held at Hudson Falls High School, located at 80 East Labarge Street. RAM is also in need of general support volunteers to help set up on Friday, April 11th and take down on Sunday, April 13th. Overnight parking volunteers to greet patients are also needed, and interpreters can volunteer to aid patients through the process, either in the parking lot or during clinic operations. Individuals do not need to work in the medical field to volunteer as general support. 3/31/25 – The Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for its Community Conservation Program, through which grants of up to $1,000 are available per project. The grant opportunity is aimed toward schools, municipal departments, and local community-based organizations such as scouting groups, beautification committees, or other not-for-profits. Projects must be implemented on public land that is open and accessible. Projects also must be completed by November 30th to qualify for this year’s funding. The Soil & Water Conservation District encourage innovative ideas, inviting all members of the community to apply for a chance to make a meaningful impact. Funds are limited, so be sure to apply early! 4/2/25 – On Wednesday April 2nd, the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls presents a family craft program, “Rain Puddle Paintings” from 4 to 5pm. Inspired by April showers, this creative craft will have participants creating a whimsical rain puddle with blue paint and a touch of glitter. Once your shimmering puddle is complete, you’ll add a pair of bright rain boots, so you’re all set to make a splash. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required. 4/18/25 – Volunteers are needed for the semi-annual Glens Falls Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 19th from 9 to 11am. Tasks include sweeping, raking, trash pickup, and general tidying of the sidewalks. 4/29/25 – Warren County Department of Workforce Development is currently accepting applications for its Summer Youth Employment Program, which provides jobs for youth between the ages of 14 and 20 and helps local businesses get through the busy summer season. The program provides work experience and training to qualified youth from Warren County to help them develop skills they need to succeed in the workforce. There are family income guidelines to be met by applicants in order to qualify for the program. Youth who are hired are assigned to work at a variety of worksites — including non-profit organizations, private businesses and government worksites — around Warren County for about 8 weeks starting in late June. In recent years participants have been placed with town highway departments, parks and recreation departments, school districts, campgrounds, farms, and a variety of private businesses.
