5/11/24 – On Saturday May 11th, the Warren County Fish Hatchery at 145 Echo Lake Road in Warrensburg will hold its “Spring Zing” open house and fishing clinic from 9:30am to 2pm. It’s a day of fish-themed fun, with clinics, prizes, demonstrations, free food and other activities. Tours of the trout-rearing operation at the hatchery will be offered. 5/11/24 – On Saturday, May 11th, the Slate Valley Museum in Granville will welcome Hawaiian artist Scott Kekuhaupi’o Manley for an artistic demonstration exploring his methods for engraving on slate from 1 to 3pm. Visitors will be welcomed to try engraving themselves. Some small slate pieces will be available at the museum, but people are welcome to bring their own slate pieces to create on as well. The cost of attending the demonstration is included in the museum’s regular admission price. The museum is currently closed, but will open for this special program. TFN – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County offers a free, confidential Family Budget Coaching Program to community residents. The one-on-one sessions are available to individuals and families who want to improve their financial literacy, set goals, create a savings plan, reduce debt and get a better handle on their finances. The trained coaches will offer sessions either via zoom or in person in Glens Falls, Warrensburg and Johnsburg.
